The Museum has quite a large collection of printed material (photographs, printed material etc.) which has been donated to us over the years, for which we are very grateful. This does however give us some concerns as to having the room to display it all, where it can be done safely. The Town Hall is an old building and the prison it is built over is even older, meaning that there is a lot of moisture in the air, which in turn means paper exhibits becoming damaged in the atmosphere.
We have purchased a computer and scanner and are in the process of scanning as much of the paper exhibits as we can. This allows us to then mount them in frames, each frame being dedicated to a specific theme. This work is in progress and we already have one frame completed with the second being made as I am writing this paragraph.
